UNDERSTANDING GENDER, ETHNICITY, CULTURE,
AGE AND DISABILITY IN THE WORK ENVIRONMENT
We provide a broad range of services, tailored to suit your requirements. These include auditing and analysis of your existing workforce through to drafting of policies and training. Each area is outlined in further detail below, but a summary such as this can only ever provide you with an overview, we are happy to talk to you personally to assess your precise needs.
Audits, Benchmarks and Action Plans
We establish your current position through audit. Audit may include a statistical analysis of your staff profiles according to specified criteria (including gender, ethnic origin, disability status and age). It can include an analysis of application rates to jobs and an analysis of outcomes. By this approach we can establish whether statistically there appears to be any adverse impact on specific groups: this may indicate a flaw at some stage in the recruitment and selection process.
We can also look at progression data by specified criteria, this can establish whether there are any anomalies in your promotions or re grading systems which may require further investigation or action. Other areas we can assess are compensation and benefits to ensure equal pay and equal value compliance.
Moving forward, we can work with you to establish realistic benchmarks for future progress. These may be numeric, but can also include revising process and procedures to bring about change. We can work with you to agree Action Plans, including the development of integrated programmes of training, to help you obtain the changes you require. If you already have programmes in place, we can help you revitalise them to help achieve the original goals.
Policy and Procedure Development
Before devising new policies, or revising established ones, it is often helpful to take internal soundings. We provide a range of services to obtain feedback including facilitating focus groups and undertaking qualitative and quantitative surveys to inform your decision making.
We can offer expert support to your own HR staff or we can draft and revise policies and procedures for you. Examples include:
- Age
- Equality and Diversity
- Disability
- Harassment and Bullying
- Family Friendly
- Maternity and Parental Leave
- Job Sharing
