Can anyone send me some biographical information about ? Lieutenant General Sir Brian Horrocks ? Answer: "Horrocks" - by Philip Warner - a biography of Sir Brian - Available from Amazon I am researching the family of Josiah Horrocks the 'Cotton King' of Preston, Lancs fron circa 1800 to the present. Has anyone any knowledge of them? I would like to contribute the information I have gathered of the Horrocks's of West Virginia. This is directed to Stephen Horrocks . of Texas. My husband Michael is the nephew of Max Horrocks and your cousin. Please e-mail me at this address .I would appreciate anyone having information to contact me. I am looking for Robert Horrocks who married Olive M james around 1964 had a brother called Peter (now deceased ). I have receaved some documents for him and wish to pass them on . I read on your webpage that someone has left a message about someone who sadly passed away. Well a friend of mine called Matthew Horrocks passed away a few weeks ago. He was a zoo keeper at Chester Zoo, he loved animals and was a kind person. He died trying to save some drowning kitten from a the marine lake (in Southport). It seems someone wanted to get rid of the kittens by drowning them. But the kind and warm person that Matthew is, he put his own life in danger for the sake of another living thing. I left his details to immortalise his persona and a sort of place I can look at and remember the kindness that was unique. RIP and hope you are looking down on me and guiding me. You are an inspiration to all Horrocks. God bless. We have lost your e-mail address :-( Someone would love to get in touch with you.<message dated 22.08.99> This is merely just a note that about 2 weeks ago a man by the name of Gary Horrocks, who taught at Somerset College on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia committed suicide for an as yet unknown reason. Due to the fact that this page seems to be a meeting place for the Horrocks name .. i felt it appropriate to pass this on. He was a very good teacher of Japanese, a fine serviceman with the RAAF in both Australia and Japan and a great father. His departing has left an emptiness and uneasiness in our lives that will be hard to overcome. He was my Japanese teacher in most of high school and a great teacher to have. Although i failed his classes (through my own lack of motivation - not his teaching methods) i thoroughly enjoyed them nonetheless and always looked forward to them. It is a shame that he has gone. Ron Srogen(srogen@skybus.com) would like to make contact.<message dated 15.01.98> Hi Horrocks' All ... I'm researching relatives of my maternal grandmother Elizabeth Ann Horrocks who lived and was married in Thornley Co.Durham England in 1911, her father was John Davison Horrocks, she had a sister also of Thornley called Hannah Jane Horrocks and another relative called John William Horrocks (brother?) Family lore has it that she was descended from the Horrocks' Irish Linen family, but that of corse could be nonesense. Please contact me at the above e-mail address if you have any further info. or if I can help you in any way, Thanks - Michael Anyone with current e-mail address or contact information on Gertrude Perry who was looking for information on Ronald and Arnold Horrocks pls contact me at lrocks13@hotmail.com - Previous message had incorrect e-mail address |
